Certification Verification
IBTS provides a verification letter by fax or email to verify the following information on manufactured homes:- Label Number
- Serial Number
- Date of Manufacture
- Name of the Manufacturer and Plant Location
- Location of First Destination (usually the retailer)
Please note that this letter does NOT contain wind zone, roof load or thermal information.
IBTS maintains data regarding the required certification labels and data plates for manufactured homes. Please note that certification labels are not replaced. The verification letter provided suffices in most cases for missing certification labels or unknown manufacturer data for specific homes.
Data Plate / Performance Verification Certificate
IBTS may be able to provide a copy of the data plate/compliance certificate if your home has certification numbers. If a copy is not available, we can provide a substitute Performance Verification Certificate generated based on the original destination of the home.IBTS provides a data plate or substitute performance verification certificate by fax or email to verify the following information on manufactured homes:
- Serial Number
- Date of Manufacture
- Name of the Manufacturer and Plant Location
- Wind Zone, Roof Load Zone and Thermal Zone for which the home is designed. IBTS performance verification certificate is based on production reports provided by the home manufacturer. The certificate is based on the zone requirements in effect at the time the home was manufactured, for the location of the home's final destination (usually the retailer). IBTS is not liable for changes to the home's construction, or subsequent home moves that may affect the home performance information verified.
Note: Details for manufactured homes built before June 15, 1976 are not available. If you know the home was built before this date, or it is a modular home, please do not submit a request, as we do not have this information and therefore cannot research these homes.
Fees
Label Verification Letter
Regular: $50 (5-10 business days) ($50 non-refundable research fee); or
Urgent: $100 (1-3 business days) ($75 non-refundable research fee)
Data Plates/Compliance Certificate
Regular: $100 (5-10 business days) ($75 non-refundable research fee); or
Urgent: $125 (1-3 business days) ($100 non-refundable research fee)
NOTE: A minimum research fee of $50 for Regular Label requests and $75 for Urgent Label requests, or $75 for Regular Data Plate requests and $100 for Urgent Date Plate requests, will be charged, even if your home is not found due to insufficient, incomplete, or incorrect information, the home is not a manufactured home, or it is found to be built prior to June 15, 1976. Do not submit a request for a home that you know is not a manufactured home or if it was built before June 15, 1976.

Note: If you have a closing date, please indicate the date on your form. Actual processing time may vary depending on the quality of the information you provide for research. All requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, unless a request is marked as "URGENT." URGENT requests are given the highest priority and are completed as soon as reasonably possible given the time of day the request is received, workload of the department, and the accuracy of the information you provide for IBTS to research. The costs are listed above. Requests should be faxed only to the number at the bottom of the form or completed on-line. Check requests are only received when you send them with your check.
